Massage Therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body, addressing areas of pain or discomfort due to acute or chronic injury, repetitive strain, postural dysfunction, changes due to pregnancy, emotional stress, and others. Having both a relaxing and therapeutic effect, massage may include Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point, joint mobilizations, cupping, instrument assisted, and stretching. After reviewing your health history and listening to your concerns, we work with you, implementing a variety of techniques to promote tissue healing and achieve your treatment goals. Clear communication with our clients and recommendations for self care enhance a positive treatment outcome.

This gentle form of fascial release is growing in popularity. During treatment, the therapist places plastic or silicone suction cups on restricted areas and moves them slowly to decrease fascial adhesions. The cups may also be left on specific areas for several minutes for deeper effect. Clients might experience pleasant skin pulling as layers of fascia unwind, increasing blood flow to the area and promoting tissue healing. While cupping may leave circular marks on the body, these are temporary and fade within a few days. Myofascial cupping can be used by itself or within a massage therapy session.

Gentle, nurturing and deeply relaxing, Reiki is subtle energy work that brings healing to body, mind and spirit. Applied by resting hands directly on or above the body, this "Universal Life Energy" can not only bring relief to physical discomfort and pain but can also deepen one's awareness and connection to Self.
Reiki may be used to relieve pain, improve sleep and digestive issues, recover from illness or injury, reduce stress and fatigue, ease anxiety, depression, and grief, just to name a few. Ideally Reiki is a treatment within itself but may also be included within a massage therapy session.

The art of Traditional Thai Massage, practiced in Thailand today, is a unique form of body therapy that combines ancient practices taken from both China (acupuncture) and India (yoga). It is done on a mat on the floor with the patient fully clothed. The practitioner uses their hands, feet and elbows to employ elements of gentle rocking, deep tissue stretching and rhythmic compression. The Thai method of massage uses a combination of muscle stretching and pressure point techniques on the main energy lines, called SEN, to initiate energy movement through the body. It is of great therapeutic benefit for a wide range of conditions such as headaches, back pain, digestive disorders, shoulder and neck tension, joint pain, menstruation problems, insomnia, stress related conditions and much more.

MLD uses gentle, rhythmic, pumping massage-like movements to stimulate the movement of fluids in the tissue. The lymph vessel system is responsible for carrying excess water, proteins and wastes from the connective tissue back to the blood system. If the pathways become congested, blocked or damaged, fluids can build up in the tissue leading to swelling. MLD aids the lymph system by transporting damaged cells, inflammatory products and toxins away at a faster rate, speeding up the healing process. MLD is beneficial for lymphedema, non-infected inflammatory conditions (like acne, tendonitis, sprains, etc), sports injuries, burns, recovery from plastic or orthopedic surgery, circulatory disturbances, venous insufficiency and as an immune system boost.

Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJD) is a condition that affects the jaw joint and surrounding muscles, leading to pain, discomfort, and limited jaw movement. TMJD can be caused by various factors, including jaw clenching, teeth grinding, stress, and misalignment of the jaw. One complementary approach to managing TMJD symptoms is massage therapy. Intraoral work for TMJ (temporomandibular joint) refers to a specialized form of manual therapy that targets the muscles and tissues within the mouth to address TMJ disorder (TMJD). During intraoral work, therapist will use a gloved hand to access and assess the muscles and structures inside the mouth. This technique allows for a more direct and precise approach in addressing tension, trigger points, and restrictions that may contribute to TMJD symptoms. Intraoral work aims to release muscle tension, improve jaw mobility, and restore proper alignment of the temporomandibular joint.
Abdominal massage is a therapeutic technique that focuses on manipulating and massaging the abdominal region of the body. It involves applying gentle, rhythmic strokes and varying degrees of pressure to the abdomen to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and address specific health concerns. The benefits of abdominal massage include reducing muscle tension, relieving digestive issues, stimulating the gastrointestinal system, and promoting lymphatic flow. This type of massage can also help to alleviate menstrual discomfort in some cases.
IASTM uses smooth, bevel edged stainless steel tools to assess and treat soft tissues. The tools may be used to reduce scarring and fascial restrictions, but by adjusting the rate, depth and time an area is treated, the IASTM has also been shown to stimulate different sensory receptors in the skin, affecting the nervous system as a whole. The results can lead to decreased pain, increased local circulation, improved mobility, and deeper relaxation. IASTM can be used for short, localized treatments, or in combination with other massage therapy techniques.
